Dear Friends,
November weather marks the transition from summer to fall with magnificent color in certain areas of the country, falling leaves, shorter hours of daylight, and unstable weather. This is very much a time of change both in climate and our personal lives! As we look to upcoming holidays, now is the time to create an action plan for enjoying the festivities – food, people, and parties; at the same time, have a plan for staying active.
Thank you for your interest in Footsteps for Health. I'd enjoy hearing from you!
I wish for you a year of peace, prospertity, health and fun!
Judy

Call To Action! WVR 2008 Early Registration
- The first 50 teams to register in full by December 1 will receive $100 off
their registration fee for a total fee of $700!
- That is $75 less than last year's fee!
- Registration will close on December 1, 2007.
Our team loved the walk this year. We had three newbies in each van and the young ladies found it to be an awesome experience. The new course was much more forgiving than the previous years, with the 8 milers at night. We want to thank everyone who made this event possible. It was extremely well organized and personable.

Please remember, WVR 2008 will feature the Relay, the Half Relay, 10K Walk/Run and additional events to be held in Alton Baker Park. Stay tuned for what's new in 2008!

Fitness Tip: Can Exercise Reduce Your Risk of Catching a Cold?
Sir William Osler, the famous Canadian medical doctor, once quipped, “There’s only one way to treat the common cold — with contempt.” And for good reason. The average adult has two to three respiratory infections each year. That number jumps to six or seven for young children. Whether or not you get sick with a cold after being exposed to a virus
depends on many factors that affect your immune system. Old age, cigarette smoking,
mental stress, poor nutrition and lack of sleep have all been associated with impaired immune function and increased risk of infection.
