CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
1 cup unbleached white flour
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup toasted hazelnuts
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup Earth Balance Butter Blend, melted
1/2 cup sugar, brown rice syrup, or honey
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup water
*Regular Earth Balance Spread can be substituted and honey avoided to make the cookies vegan.
Preheat your oven to 350 F.
In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients.
In a smaller bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients.
Stir the wet into the dry.
Transfer heaping tablespoons of dough onto parchment lined or oiled baking sheets, two inches apart.
Bake until cookies are golden, 15 to 20 minutes.
